Norwegian employers can not bring their employees’ passports to the tax office in order to apply for tax deduction cards and D-numbers on behalf of their employees.
Foreign workers that do not have a D-number, must apply for a tax deduction card in person at the tax office.
Foreign workers must produce a passport or equivalent document of identification at the tax office so that the tax office can perform an identidty check.
