Deduction for trade union fees

  • Print

If you have paid trade union fees, you can deduct up to NOK 3,850 from your tax, or a proportional amount if trade union fees were only paid for part of the year.

Trade union fees are entered under item 3.2.11, but the amount will be pre-filled in your electronic tax return if the fees were deducted and paid by your employer.

The amount will then also be specified in the annual statement of earnings, allowance and tax which you receive from your employer or income payer in January/February.

The rate applies for the income year 2016

If you need rates for the tax return, you must check the rates for 2017

By "income year", we mean the year in which the income or expense arises. The rates for the income year are used in the tax return and tax calculation.

By "assessment year", we mean the year after the income year and in which the tax return for the income year must be submitted/checked and the tax calculated.

The maximum deduction is NOK 3,850.
