Have you already applied to the Norwegian Tax Administration to amend your information?

If you have already submitted an application to amend information registered about you in the National Registry regarding your place of birth, citizenship or date of birth to the National Registry via the Norwegian Tax Administration, the Tax Administration will forward your application to the Directorate of Immigration. The Norwegian Tax Administration will also forward all the documents you have submitted to the Directorate of Immigration.

You do therefore not need to re-apply or contact the Directorate of Immigration.

Waiting times for responses to applications to amend information are currently long. You will be notified when the Directorate of Immigration has processed your application.

Do you need to change information concerning your date of birth, place of birth or citizenship?

If you need to apply to alter information concerning your date of birth, place of birth or citizenship, you must contact the Directorate of Immigration in future in order to find out what you need to do.

If the Directorate of Immigration decides that information concerning your date of birth, place of birth or citizenship should be amended, they will notify the tax office, which will then amend the relevant information in the National Registry.
