Do you have family connections outside Norway?

You will be considered to have family connections outside Norway if you:

  • live with your spouse or children under 18 years of age outside Norway, and
  • visit them regularly

What does “regularly” mean?

By “regularly”, we mean usually at least once a month.

If your visits are less frequent, we will assess the number of visits and their duration as a whole. We will also take into account the distance between Norway and the home country.

Do you have family in several countries?

You can only have family connections to one country. This must be considered in each individual case.

For example, if you have children abroad and live with your spouse and children in Norway, this suggests that you have a family connection to Norway.
