All documentation must be in Norwegian or English

Documentation you must present when you apply for a tax deduction card for foreign citizens:

Nordic citizens

  • Passport, national ID card (with photo, mention of nationality and gender), or a valid driving licence together with an extract from the national identity register of your home country, showing nationality and gender. The extract must be no more than three months old. It must also be signed and stamped.
  • You must also prove that you need a tax deduction card. You could for example present your employment contract or a written offer of employment. You must also show confirmation of an assignment in the case of assignments for manpower agencies, etc.

EU/EEA/EFTA citizens

  • Passport or national ID card containing a photo and mentioning your nationality and gender.
  • You must also prove that you need a tax deduction card. You could for example present your employment contract or a written offer of employment. You must also show confirmation of an assignment in the case of assignments for manpower agencies, etc.

Non-EU/EEA/EFTA citizens

  • Passport containing a photo and mentioning your nationality and gender
  • Residence card showing permission to reside in Norway with a right to work
  • You must also prove that you need a tax deduction card. You could for example present your employment contract or a written offer of employment. You must also show confirmation of an assignment in the case of assignments for manpower agencies, etc.
