Young people, work and tax

If you’ve gotten a job for the summer or permanently, you have to get a tax deduction card. Depending on how much you earn during the year, you must get an exemption card or a tax deduction card.

In March/April the following year, we will send you a tax return. This gives you an overview of your income, deductions and what you’ve paid in tax. This is a provisional calculation of your tax. You must check that everything is correct. If you make any changes to your tax return, you must submit it.

After your tax return is submitted, we will process it. When we have finished processing your tax return, you will get a tax assessment. The time this takes can vary. We’ll let you know when your tax assessment is ready.
