Data sources and what you can access

Here you can see an overview of the data sources that the Tax Administration can disclose for research purposes.

Research data are normally retrieved from the Tax Administration’s data platform. The data are linked using national identity numbers and organisation numbers. You must be able to process and prepare the data yourself.

For most sources, we have data for the last ten assessment years.

We're working on a new solution for analysis. It will take some time before all data sources are available on the platform.

Information from the Tax Administration's collection systems for tax and value added tax (). For each claim, information is available on what the claim concerns and the original amount, as well as the remaining, written off and waived amounts. Further information is available on the part of the claim that has been paid on time and within 1 month, 1-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months, and more than 12 months after the due date.

    Table structure

The data are time-stamped by posting date and due date.

    We're developing our systems

We're in the process of consolidating our collection ledgers into a new, joint case-processing and accounting system. This means that soon we'll be able to offer collection data on case processing and ledgers for tax, value added tax, excise duties, and other commission collections, all from a single source.

Expected content using the new system

Case information: Information on different cases and measures used in collection, with a common model from the new case-processing system.

Ledger information: Information about claims, deposits, and withdrawals, with remaining amounts as at the reporting date. There will be a common information model across the old accounting classification.

We'll be able to make up to ten years of historical data available.

    Table structure

Data will be offered in both nested and flattened formats.

If you need more information about the data included in the sources, you can contact us at [email protected].
