Waste incineration tax

Here you’ll find the current and previous rates for waste incineration.

The rate is NOK 238 per tonne of CO2.

The tax is calculated by multiplying the amount of waste delivered to the incineration facility measured in tonnes by a factor of 0.5498 tonne fossil CO2 per tonne of waste.

You may apply to the Norwegian Environment Agency for assessment of a facility-specific factor to be used when calculating the tax, instead of using the factor of 0.5498.
