One-off registration tax

The one-off registration tax is calculated based on the vehicle's tax group, kerb weight, CO2 emissions, NOx emissions and cylinder capacity. For some vehicles, engine power is also included in the calculation. You must pay one-off registration tax when the vehicle has been approved by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

  • Pay the one-off registration tax

Log in and search for your vehicle and then calculate how much one-off registration tax and scrap deposit tax you’ll have to pay.
  • Exemption and reduction of the one-off registration tax

Some types of vehicles are exempt from or pay a reduced one-off registration tax.
  • Opphør av fritak for engangsavgift

Hvis vilkårene for fritak eller reduksjon av engangsavgift ikke lenger gjelder for kjøretøyet ditt, må du betale engangsavgift.
  • What is the one-off registration tax?

The one-off registration tax is calculated based on the vehicle's tax group, kerb weight, CO2 emissions, NOx emissions and cylinder capacity.
  • Deduction for use

Deduction for use is a reduction in the one-off registration tax when you import a used vehicle.
  • Recalculation of one-off registration tax

If you think that the calculated one-off registration tax is incorrect, you can apply for a recalculation.
