Re-identify yourself to update your electronic ID

Before you can re-identify yourself, you must check

• that we have registered the correct number from your ID document, for example your passport number
• whether you have the status "checked" (applies only if you have a D number)

If you have a valid electronic ID, you can log in and see the information we have registered about you in the National Population Register.

View your information in the National Population Register

You'll find the status under the field "status of identity basis" and the ID document number under the field "identification basis".

If you have been notified by BankID, Buypass or Commfides that you must update the number on your ID document in the National Population Register, you must send us a written enquiry.

The enquiry must include

• a copy of your most recent ID document, where the document number (for example the passport number) is visible
• information about your Norwegian identification number

You do not need to attend an ID check to have the number on your ID document updated.

Mark the enquiry with "update information for eID".

If you have a national identity number, there is no requirement for the status "checked".

If you have a D number and do not have the status "checked" in the National Population Register, you must attend an ID check.
