Power of attorney for cases where we collect on behalf of others
You can give someone power of attorney to act on your behalf in cases where we collect money for others.
This page applies to claims from public-sector bodies and private individuals on whose behalf we collect money.
For tax claims and claims from NAV, separate powers of attorney apply:
Important information when granting a power of attorney
The power of attorney must:
- clearly state to whom you’re granting it
- describe what it covers and any limitations
- state its duration
- be signed by you
If you send the power of attorney on paper, you must attach a copy or photo of valid proof of identity for the person granting it.
You can choose whether you want to create a separate power of attorney or use our forms.
General power of attorney
You can grant power of attorney to someone else to:
- receive and provide information about you and your financial situation
- negotiate and enter into agreements on your behalf

Power of attorney to appeal to the district court
If you have received a letter from us informing you that you can appeal to the district court, you can give someone power of attorney to appeal on your behalf. This requires a separate power of attorney.
The person you give the power of attorney to must be specifically named.
The power of attorney must be submitted to us along with the appeal.
