(daily travels between home and work)
This calculator provides guidance and information about the travel deduction you may be entitled to as a commuter. It covers travel between your commuter accommodation and your home address, as well as between your commuter accommodation and your workplace. The rates shown apply to last year and are used for this year’s tax return.
To use the calculator, you’ll need to enter your home address, the address of your commuter accommodation, and your workplace address. The result is based on the information you provide. Because not all your tax circumstances are taken into account, the result is not a binding answer from the Tax Administration, but an indication of how the travel deduction may affect your taxes. The information you enter is not stored.
The final assessment of your travel deduction is made when your tax return is processed. You’ll find out whether the deduction has been approved in your tax assessment notice.
If you believe you’re entitled to a travel deduction, you must include it in your tax return. You can update your tax return online or on paper.
