If you’ve received the tax return for businesses, you must submit it. Even if you’ve terminated your business activity or have had no revenue, you must still submit the tax return.
The deadline was 31 May. If you have not yet done so, you must submit your tax return as soon as possible to avoid an enforcement fine.
Once you have submitted your tax return, we need to process it and prepare a tax assessment. Most people receive the tax assessment notice between April and June, while others have to wait until autumn.
Unfortunately, we cannot give you a specific date for when you’ll receive your tax assessment notice. You’ll be notified.
Underpaid tax
If you have underpaid tax you’ll receive an invoice with payment information well before the due date.
You can pay what you can right away, and then pay little by little until the deadline. That way, you can create your own repayment plan.
If you have underpaid tax, this is usually because not enough tax has been deducted during the year. Avoid underpaying your tax next year by checking the numbers in your tax deduction card for 2025.
If you earn NOK 100,000 or less during the year, you can get an exemption card. If you believe you’ll earn more than NOK 100,000 this year, it’s important that you order a tax deduction card instead of an exemption card.
If you have more than one employer, you must remember to split the tax-free amount.
