You have specified an invalid message ID.
You may have received the error message because you:
- have an error in your payroll system
- have created an a-melding yourself with an invalid message ID - specified a message ID which consists of more than 150 characters - specified a character which is not a “standard alphanumeric ASCII character” (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) - specified æ, ø or å or a space in the message ID - specified ‘-‘ (minus) in the message ID - specified ‘_’ (underscore) in the message ID - specified ‘.’ (point) in the message ID
Do I have to correct the error
Yes, the a-melding contains serious errors and/or omissions which you must correct. The a-melding has been rejected.
You must correct the error by the deadline for submitting the a-melding for the calendar month in which you received the error message.

How to correct the error
- If you have a payroll system, contact your payroll system supplier for help in correcting the error.
- If you created the file yourself, enter a new, correct message ID. See the the information page for end user systems
- Submit the a-melding when you have corrected the error.
Example – invalid character in message ID
An architectural firm has created a file itself and submits an a-melding with a message ID which includes an underscore (_).
The firm receives error message MAGNET_EDAG-181E because there is an invalid character in a message ID. It must specify an ID without an underscore and re-submit.
