Income recipient is missing Norwegian national ID number/D number

    Why am I receiving this error message

    You have used an international identifier in order to identify the income recipient. You must use a national identity number, here referred to as a Norwegian national ID number, or a D number if the income recipient has one.

    You may be receiving the error message because:

    • you have forgotten to specify a D number or a national identity number
    • the income recipient has not yet been assigned a D number or a national identity number

     

    Do I have to correct the error

    The a-melding has been submitted with information which may be incorrect.

    If there is an error, you must correct it by the deadline for submitting the a-melding for the calendar month in which you received the error message.

    How to correct the error

    1. If there are no errors, you do not have to do anything.

    2. If the income recipient has been assigned a national identity number or a D number, you must specify this number in an a-melding. You should do this in the first a-melding after the income recipient is assigned the number.

      NOTE! You must use a national identity number or a D number as soon as you know the number. Both the Norwegian and foreign identifiers must be specified in the first a-melding after the income recipient receives a Norwegian identifier. In subsequent a-meldings, you must only use either the national identity number or the D number.

    3. Submit the a-melding when you have corrected the error. If you use a payroll system, check with your system supplier if you are not sure how to make corrections in your system.

     

    Example - has received a D number

    An oil company submits an a-melding containing information regarding Ali and uses an international ID to identify him. Ali is assigned a D number. The company receives error message MAGNET_EDAG-179 because there is no national identity number or D number. It has forgotten to specify a D number.

    The oil company submits an a-melding with both an international identifier and a D number, causing these two numbers to be linked together. See more about national identity number, D number or international ID.

     

    Example - has not received a D number

    A construction company submits an a-melding with information concerning Pjotr, who has not yet been assigned a D number. The company receives error message MAGNET_EDAG-179 because there is no national identity number or D number.

    The company does not have to make any changes.
