Examples of expenses you must document
- home mortgage – instalment amount, repayment period and who owns the loan

In some cases, we can also consider other documented expenses
If you have extremely high electricity expenses, you must submit documentation of your expenses for an entire year’s consumption of electricity/heating. Afterwards, we will calculate an average per month.
In case of extraordinary high electricity prices, we can calculate the average expenses in other ways.
If you have custody of children, we need a copy of the custody agreement and a copy of receipts for travel expenses that you’re obliged to pay.
If you have extraordinary health expenses or medications beyond the exemption card scheme, you must document this. Examples of documentation may be a statement from a doctor or treatment provider confirming that the expense is necessary and is not covered by the public scheme.
You must also document who the doctor/treatment provider is, how much the entire treatment costs and how long the treatment lasts.
The cost-of-living rate requires the use of public transportation between home and workplace. In some cases, however, we can take into consideration that you need a car and some car loan expenses:
You must have a car to be able to work:
If you need to use a car to and from the workplace, you must send us a
- confirmation from your employer stating how many kilometres you must drive per day and that you cannot use public transportation
- copy of annual motor vehicle tax invoice
- copy of car insurance invoice
You’re a student and need a car to complete your education:
The place of education must provide a confirmation that you study there. You must submit this confirmation to us.
You need transport to medical treatment:
You must document your need for transport and the doctor must document your need for the medical treatment. You must send both documents to us.
You must also document extraordinary expenses such as high dental expenses, espenses for your own child’s confirmation (not gifts) or replacing appliances.
Income of cohabiting partner, spouse or other adults in the household
As a rule, we divide the household’s expenses in two when we calculate a deduction in the income.
You may be asked to document the income of your cohabiting partner, spouse or other adults in the household.
