The amount is the sum of your trips between your home address and place of work, as well as your road toll/ferry expenses minus the non-deductible amount.

If the amount you set for the deduction is approved, you might be be entitled to pay the amount x 0.22 less in tax.

For the 2020 income year, a deduction will only be given for travel expenses of between NOK 23,100 and NOK 73,900.

Examples:

If you can deduct NOK 13,100, you pay NOK 0 less tax because 13,100 - 23,100 = - NOK 10,000.
If you can deduct NOK 25,000, you may have to pay NOK 418 less tax because 25,000 - 23,100 = NOK 1900. 1900 x 0.22 = NOK 418.

The deduction for travel per kilometre is limited to a maximum of 75,000 kilometres, so that the maximum deduction for travel (kilometres * rate per kilometre) is NOK 97 000 before deduction of the non-deductible amount of NOK 23,100.

The total upper limit applies to travels both inside and outside the EEA area and includes expenses you have relating to road tolls, ferries and air travel.
