Appeal an attachment of earnings in connection with maintenance claims and claims from NAV, Helfo and the Guarantee Fund for Fishermen

If we’ve started enforcement proceedings on maintenance claims or claims from NAV, Helfo and the Guarantee Fund for Fishermen, you can apply for us to reduce our deduction from your income.

Appeal the deduction

When you appeal against a deduction, you must state why you think the deduction is incorrect or why you believe enforcement proceedings should not have been initiated.

We’ll accept the following attachments:

  • photos of paper documents taken with a mobile phone/camera
  • screenshots of online documents

When we process your appeal, we do not consider undocumented information.

Please note that if the deduction is reduced, your payment period will be longer.

Examples of expenses you must document

  • home mortgage – instalment amount, repayment period and who owns the loan
  • house rent – copy of the rental agreement or specified invoice
  • home insurance
  • municipal taxes – copy of invoice
  • childcare (SFO/AKS or child day care centre) – copy of invoice
  • child maintenance
  • if you’re a student – copy of student ID

Who has the right to appeal

Private individuals may appeal against deductions from their salary, pension or other benefits.

Further appeals

If we do not change the deduction and you do not wish to withdraw your appeal, we’ll send your appeal to the district court. Before the district court can process your appeal, you’ll have to pay 1 court fee.
