Disability benefit – deductions in future payments

If you’ve received more disability benefit than you’re entitled to, you must repay the amount that was overpaid. If you do not pay this amount, we may deduct the amount from future benefits.

If you worked more than what was agreed while receiving disability benefit, you’ll receive a letter about this and then an invoice with payment information. If you pay the full amount within the deadline, you avoid that we start making deductions from your benefit.

If you do not pay the full amount, we will make deductions from your benefit

If you do not pay the full amount and you still receive a benefit, we’ll start making deductions from your benefit. This means that we deduct what you owe from your ongoing benefit. The consequence is that you’ll receive less benefit for a period.

We usually deduct 10 percent of your benefit until the whole amount has been paid. You can choose to have us deduct more than 10 percent of your benefit if you want to repay faster.

You may apply for a smaller deduction from your benefit

You may apply for a smaller deduction from your benefit if you do not have enough funds to cover cost of living expenses. You must attach documentation showing that you do not have enough funds to cover your cost of living expenses.

The deductions will continue unchanged until we’ve processed your application.
